This information is specific to users of Balfour Beatty's "KOL" server only.

On the weekend of 28th November 2020 the Balfour Beatty BC Server will be upgraded to BC7.4.2.


Immediately after logging in you will be asked to review the Balfour Beatty and BC terms and conditions and agree to them.

Then you will be asked to update your user details. Please enter your work details only, not personal or home information.


Please check the Primary Email address that is allocated to your BC account, by scrolling down to the Security section of the Edit Details page:

  • If you have an @balfourbeatty.com email address, please make sure that this email address is added to your account. It can either be added as a Primary or a Secondary email address. This email address will be used to identify you for Single Sign On in the near future.

  • Please make sure that the Primary email address assigned to your account is where you would prefer all BC notification emails to be sent and that the email address is up to date and active. Emails from BC will only be sent to your Primary email address.




How to add a new email address to your BC account

  • On the Edit Details page, type the email address you would like to add into the Secondary Email box and click Save. 
    • If you need to, you can access the Edit Details page again at any time, by clicking on your username in the top right and then choosing Edit Details.

  • BC will send out a verification email to the email address that you entered.

  • When you receive the verification email, click on the link.

  • You will be taken to a page headed "User Registration". In the text boxes at the bottom of the page:
    • Please enter your BC username -- please be careful as this is case sensitive and the username must match exactly.
    • Please enter the password you use to log in to your BC account. This is required twice. Please make sure the same password is entered in both boxes.
    • Click Complete Registration.

  • BC will detect that you wish to associate the email address with an existing user account. You must now confirm the user account details:
    • Please make sure that BC is connecting the email address with the correct account by verifying that the username in bold is your BC username.
    • If the username is correct, then please enter your password a final time in the top text box and click the Correct Password
    • If the username is incorrect, then please enter the correct username in the textbox at the bottom of the page and click the New Username button. This will reload the page to allow you to confirm again.

  • This will complete the registration of your email address with your user account. The email address will be added as a secondary email address.


How to set a secondary email address to be your primary email address


  • First, the email address you want to be your primary address needs to be added to your account following the steps above.

  • Once the address is added and you have verified it, you can set it as your primary email address as follows:
    • Log in to your user account
    • Click on your username in the top right corner and choose Edit Details
    • Scroll down to the Security section and click on the drop down beside the Primary Email box
    • A drop-down list will appear to allow you to select which of the email accounts associated with your account should be the primary account.
    • Once you have selected the address you want as your primary address, please click Save.
