The BC Autodesk Forge integration, once enabled, will be available for any BC space if files of the appropriate MIME-types are added. See https://support.groupbc.com/a/solutions/articles/5000851865 for the list of supported MIME-types.
When a document of the appropriate MIME-type is added to BC, it will be queued for processing before it can be viewed. The file will show an icon beside it indicating that it is processing. You should also receive an email confirming that processing is in progress.
When processing is completed, the processing icon will disappear. You should also receive an email confirming that processing is complete. The file is then ready to view in the Forge viewer.
If for any reason the processing fails, the file will show an icon beside it showing that the processing has failed. You should also receive an email explaining that the processing has failed. If this occurs please initially try re-uploading the file, but if the problem persists please contact BC support at firstname.lastname@example.org
After the file has processed, you will be able to view the model in one of two ways:
- Click on the drop down arrow beside the file and click "View (in Autodesk Forge)“
- If you are using the Quartz interface, click on the document’s name. This will cause the information modal to appear. Click the View button, then choose "View (in Autodesk Forge)“.
The Forge viewer should open in a new tab and present the model.
It is also possible to open more than one file at the same time, to overlay the models. This requires the models to have been created correctly with their origin points aligned - this isn't something you can do through BC.
In order to open more than one file in the Forge viewer:
- Select the files you wish to view together using the checkboxes beside them.
- Click Selected | View (in Autodesk Forge) in Graphite, or Actions | View (in Autodesk Forge) in Quartz.
